October 26th, 2026 Update
Good Monday everyone! Moonshadow has been written. Right now, it's about 123k words long. There is a lot of content that I decided to save for the next book. Basically I looked at the story I was currently writing, and what had been my intended last act of the book. I realized how far I was about halfway through the book and had a choice, try to jam the plot of the last portion into the ending and write a book even longer than Lost Mask, or give it time to breathe and thread it through book three. The latter made the most sense to me.
So what's the plan going forward. Like with Lost Mask, I'm going to skip the week off I usually take after finishing a book and just go straight into editing. My goal is to edit as fast as I can without sacrificing quality. I have vacation coming up in a couple of weeks and hope to push during that time. I want to set the publish date as Monday, December 7th to coincide with the vacation I take for the week of my birthday. I think I can, but most likely this will cut into my customary thirty-day preorder time. That said, Tess Irondale might start recording Lost Mask as early as tomorrow. Which means I'm going to be short on sleep for the next two weeks and she is likely to finish before the vacation I took for it. Unfortunately, my job requires thirty days for vacation and adjustments, so I can't change it. It is what it is and I'll adjust.
So long story short, we'll see how the next few weeks go. Either I'll be publishing the second week of December, or the second week of January. I could publish around Christmas, but that is a chaotic time of year for everyone, and I've heard that it's a bad time to publish unless it's a seasonal themed title.
The ARC for Moonshadow is available through my Patreon. Anyone of Thunderbird Tier ($10) or higher can get the ARC through bookfunnel. If you're not currently a member of that tier, you can upgrade and there is a link on the ARC post to get it. This is available until Nov 9th, 2026. As an additional note, once I finish editing and publish it to Amazon, I'll give a free copy of the finished book to the same tiers. This will only be available for two weeks and I'll announce the timeframe at that time. For anyone with the ARC, this is your chance to give feedback before the book is finished. You can do so on the ARC post on Paetreon, or in the ARC Reader Discussion channel on my discord.
What I'm Looking for:
General Feedback, what you like, what you don't like, etc.
Plot holes, inconsistencies, continuity breaks etc.
Anything that doesn't make sense.
Inconsistent characters, like if I use the wrong name, physical description, or they act out of character.
Any points where the plot is disappointing or just doesn't pay off.
What I'm not looking for
*Grammer and Commas - Yes, these are not important, but I'm only at the beginning of the editing process. These will clear up as I go through and I want to focus on the content itself. Grammar/commas can drown out other issues.
