October 12th, 2026 Update

Another painfully slow week, and this time I really have no one but myself to blame. I got lost in a video game early in the week and fell behind. Then a combination of poor sleep and being scatterbrained kept me from catching up. I've never been diagnosed with ADHD, but some days I feel like I have it. I wouldn't be surprised if I did, I've just never been tested for it. Either way, I completely blame myself for this week. That said, I did manage to hit the 6k word goal and Moonshadow is up to 111.5k words. That said I'm also behind in other ways. I have to work on the character sheets for the party and I have three chapters to do an initial edit on.

As for where the book is, I'm in the book's finale. I have 3-5 chapters to write based on the planned scenes. I'm hoping to squeeze out another 15k, which I'm hoping to get out before the end of October. Right now, the hope is get it published in the second week of December to coincide with my birthday week so I can efficiently use my vacation time. I'll have to see how things work out. For the good of the book, If I can't get it out by the end of the year, I'll just have to deal with that. I'll be disappointed in myself for only getting one book out, but I only have myself to blame and will use that as fuel to improve for next year. Unless I do some major rewrites, I imagine getting it out early to mid January will be the worse case scenario.
