Storm Clouds

September 2, 2024 A week later.

So its been a week since the release of the book, and its been a week of me slapping my hand so I don't check the analytics every five minutes. So the question, how is it doing? Better than I feared, not as good as I might have hoped. For an indie author, on their debut novel, self-promoting, I think I'm doing pretty decent. I'm at about 15% of the mark I want to reach to consider it successful. And that's lifetime sales. So I just need to keep pushing forward and keep putting myself out there. Reception has been good, I've only had one negative rating across amazon and good reads, and so far all reviews are good and people I've talked about it have liked it.

As for progress on writing this week, I feel that it was just one step short of an unmitigated success. I got more than my minimum progress on the main project, a full chapter for side project 1, but no progress for side project 2. An unmitigated success would have been a little bit of progress on side project 2, but for the week in which I was expecting to have a panic attack, I'll take this.

Project Statuses

Main Project - Reborn Elite - 28,500 words: So not much above the minimum, but good progress. I might have reached 29k if I hadn't had an insomnia day on Saturday. I just couldn't get to sleep, and I spent half my night just trying not to fall asleep at my desk at work. As soon as I hit the 1k words I swapped to Rise of the Bloodmoon Witch in order to try and reach my weekly goal for that. Still, good progress.

Side Project 1 - Rise of the Bloodmoon Witch - 18,100 words: I got a full chapter done, which is my goal each week for this story. I want to get to the point where each week I do about 7k+ on my main project, and a chapter on this one. This is future conditioning if I ever reach the point of opening up a Patron so I have something to offer.

Side Project 2 - A Penny for A Wish - 15,000 words: Just didn't get here this week. This one will be hit or miss depending on the week, but I'm keeping it alive cause I don't want to create a modern graveyard of unfinished stories. I'll leave that to my highschool era stories.
