September 1rst, 2025 Update

A new month and hopefully a better one. August wasn’t terrible, but it really could have been better. I described the issues with my car last week. Well, I got it back, but after grocery shopping, I closed the door on the car and heard what sounded like glass hitting the ground. The back window broke. I have an appointment Wednesday afternoon to get it replaced, but the cost is under my deductible, so it will be all out of pocket. So... bleh.

Moving on, I got a full week of writing in. Got ahead Monday, suffered my usual Tuesday lapse, and got back ahead again through the rest of the week. I still didn't get all the work done that I wanted to, but it was a decent week. On top of that, I got an update on a custom mini I'm commissioning; it's in the final stages. I even found someone to print and paint it, one of my beta readers, so I’m excited for that. It’s basically the cover of Elite Born made into a mini. I also got the finished art for Elite Ascent. Both happened yesterday, so Sunday was a really up-and-down day.

Project Updates

Main Project - Elite Ascent - 120,400: As stated above, an up and down week. Overall, I'm slightly ahead. So where am I? Almost done. I'm technically in the 4th section of the book, but that's only going to be one chapter. It's a series of somewhat shorter scenes, though the chapter is going to be a bit longer compared to my average. I have three of the four scenes done, so I just have to write that, and then the epilogue and the first arc will be complete. I’ll finish either today or tomorrow. As soon as I do, I'll do my usual end-of-chapter edit and then put together the PDF/EPUB for my betas and Patreon advanced readers and put it out for them. Even if I finish early, I plan to take a break from writing next week. I'm going to use the rest of this week and next week to try and finish my world anvil pages. That way, I can focus on editing and starting to world-build for my next book, which will be the start of another series. Alongside that, I'll be giving my artist two art brief's today. I'll be getting a piece for both Fraede and Phoebe with the theme of date night as a celebration of the first arc coming to a close.

Side Project- World Anvil: I have my species’ entries done, sadly, that’s about all. I still have a lot more to do. As soon as Elite Ascent is done and sent out, I’ll focus on completing this and then going back to the one for Ashes of My Many Lives series and finishing that. I want both done by the end of next week, so all I have on my plate is editing and starting to world-build for my next book.
