October 6th, 2025 Update

I had the week off, and it felt like it went far, far too fast. I visited my parents, worked on Elite Ascent, and tried not to stare at the numbers for Moonrise. Nothing else to really report. It was relaxing... fairly productive, though likely not as good as it could have been, but I lost a day to the visit, and I didn’t do much on release day other than release day tasks.

Project Updates

Main Project - Elite Ascent - 2nd Pass complete: So I’ll be starting the third and final pass this week. Normally, this would take a week, maybe a week and a half. Unfortunately, the more I’ve thought about it, the more I want to take the time and write an alternative version of a couple of sections to see if I can make them more interesting. This will be the equivalent of four chapters and adding a section to another. I’m still not 100% sure what I’ll do, so I’ll start it as normal and give each chapter some good thought. This leaves the time frame up in the air. I’m still looking to release on December 8th with a thirty-day preorder. If it takes me a bit longer to get through this last pass, and any subsequent edits to rewrites, I'll push into the preorder time.

Side Project - World Anvil: I’ve been chipping away at this. I have about thirty articles left to do, so I'll keep working at it. I think I can finish this week. I'll still have to go through both of them to autolink stuff, and in the future, I'll have to play with making character sheets and seeing if I want to run through them on World Anvil. We'll see, but I want to get to 99% done and leave the rest to the future. As soon as I finish, I'll be moving on to world-building for my next book.
