October 14th, 2024 Update, Messy Week
This week was a bit of a wash to be honest. Between a number of things that happened and a general feeling of burnout I just took it easy this week. It started last Monday several hours after I posted my weekly update. I walked into my bathroom and found water on the floor. I thought the toilette overflowed, but when I looked up I saw a bubble in the ceiling that was leaking. Apparently in the apartment upstairs the drain pipe on their bathroom sink disconnected, and instead of calling maintenance and not using it until it was fixed, they kept using it. So yeah... 300 words into my writing and my entire night got thrown for a loop. There were other things during the week and I needed a break. But I feel refreshed and ready to get back to it, so I'm hoping to make up some ground this week, but main focus will just be getting back to normal.
For this week, I'm not going to post my usual play by play on the projects, and instead give an overview of them again.
Main Project - Reborn Elite - 63,400 Words: Can't say too much without getting into spoilers, but this is the sequel to my debut novel, Elite Born. Aurora is a phoenix born with a special elite skill that allows her to take human form and gain a class despite her low level. Two years have passed since the events in Elite Born and Aurora has to journey to reunite with her friends and face the enemies introduced at the end of Elite Born.
Side Project 1 - Rise of the Bloodmoon Witch - 35,800 Words: Cassandra dies tragically on Earth and awakens to find an [Administrator] standing over her. She gets several choices for her next life/afterlife and chooses to be reborn into a new world that has game-like mechanics. But due to an exploit, a vampire is able to ambush her nearly when she appears and she is turned. Now she has to try and get her life in order in a new world and deal with being a vampire.
Side Project 2 - A Penny for a Wish - 17,200 Words: Penelope is an orphaned, homeless, and starving kitsune trying to figure out how she's going to survive the coming winter. An encounter with a thief on the run leaves her with a vase that imprisons a Djinn and when Penny frees her as her first and only wish, the Djinn grants her the intuition to know what will and will not improve her life, but twists it so it improves her life in... interesting ways.
