Finally, I’m back to writing. The latter half of this year has felt like I’ve been focused more on editing than writing. I don’t think I’ll delay a release by more than a week or two in the future, maybe a month at the most. I don’t feel like waiting until October really changed much, but oh well. It was still fun to have a thematic seasonal release. That all said, it was my second-best month of all time, but I have a feeling that’s going to be surpassed by December. Moonrise is doing pretty well right now, and I'm closing in on over one hundred preorders for Elite Ascent, so I have a feeling December is going to spike hard. On top of that, the art for Phoebe is coming along pretty well. I like the way Fraede turned out, but there are a few tweaks I wish I’d asked for. Phoebe, on the other hand, is looking great. Even before it’s finished, I think it’ll be in the top three pieces I’ve gotten from my artist.
Project Updates
Primary Project - Lost Mask - 4100 Words: This is my new book. It’s the start of a series. My muse has been bugging me about this for about a year now. Usually, I compare it to a certain fairy that flits around constantly demanding your attention, “Hey! Listen!” But this is one of the ideas it keeps coming back to. I’m trying to take several different approaches to this one, not sure if I’m overcoming my usual tendencies, but there are some goals I want to work on while writing it. That all said, I spent the first two days finishing up prep, then did an average amount of writing. I finished the first chapter, but my goal is to get at least ten chapters done by the release of Elite Ascent. The full name is Lost Mask: Beast Core Smithing #1. I’m not 100% sure if this will stick, but right now the book title has meaning for the story, and the series name is... very on point, so good chance it’ll stay the same.
Other Projects - Nothing: Right now, I have nothing else I'm working on. I may finally start propping to GM again, but honestly, I’m hoping to turn the time I used for other projects to write this next book a little faster. Right now, I’m keeping the 1k words six days a week as the minimum I want to reach, but I'm going to aim for 1.5k words a day.
