May 5th, 2025 Update

An average wake. I still feel like I'm in my slump, but I made decent progress this week. I'm on par for writing Elite Ascent, if just barely, but I had trouble sleeping Tuesday and then got lost in figuring out how to format stuff on world anvil. My internet is also being spotty, which is annoying. I'm trying a few things that I hope will fix it, replacing cables and such that I've had for like 10 years, so we'll see. On the art front, I haven't heard back from my artist in the last week, but this isn't unusual for them. If I don't hear anything by tomorrow, I'll shoot them a message. Likely something came up, and he'll pop back up in a day or two and knock it out in like half a day.

Project Statuses

Main Project - Elite Ascent - 22,350 words: After edits and me slightly over projecting last week (Should have been 16,300, not 16,400), I'm right on par. I just finished a chapter and have that to edit as well, which will shrink the word count, but that is normal. So just barely on par. That said, I'm just getting into the meat of the first section of the book. There are going to be four main parts of the book. I don't know how long that is going to translate to, but a good guess is the 120k-130k mark as that seems to be my average. All three of my books have been in that range and it's not something I've tried to do.

Side Project - Rise of the Blood Moon Witch - Content edit, prologue - Ch. 6: I would have liked to get at least 10-12 chapters done, but didn't make it, which is why I still feel like I'm in my slump. I'm still torn on when to release. I'm going to continue to edit as a side project and see where I am by the time I'm finished. An October release would be cool, but I'm not going to hold content for months.

Other Projects: The world map for the Ashes is coming along, I'd say I'm 60%-75% done. Mind you, my aim is to get to 90-95% done before posting it. This is because its a forever WIP. I want it there as something people can reference, but I don't have every single poi, country or region figured out. So as I write I'll expand on the world, which mean's I'll add to it, so my main focus is on getting the topography done. The other project is transitioning to world anvil with my reference material. This is going to take a while. As such, I think once I finish editing RotBMW I'll focus on this and start putting together ideas for the book I want to write next after Elite Ascent and RotBMW are published.
