May 12th, 2025 Update

Had a pretty decent week. I still feel like I haven't gotten as much done as I would have liked, but I'm getting back on track. I keep falling behind early in the week. These are days I have off at work, so I have all my distractions at my fingertips. I'm hoping to turn that ship around this week. That being said I had a decent week and marked a few things off my checklist. First, I got the cover art for Rise of the Blood Moon Witch back. Second, I finished the map for Rae'Cairne, the world of Ashes. It's technically not finished as I haven't named a bunch of regions or put in major cities, etc. But I'm more of a build-as-you-go type of person, so it's in a state where I can use it as a reference, and in the future, I'll add to it.

Project Statuses

Main Project - Elite Ascent - 28,400 words: I'm on par for the week. Part of this was posting Aurora's character sheet and several descriptions, but I'm also in a section where there is going to be a lot of leveling, so that also comes with a lot of background work in updating sheets and writing descriptions, which can include ones I don't put on the page. So, in essence, I was a little behind on the word count if I take out the character sheet, but overall, I easily did more than what I consider the minimum for the week.

Side Project - Rise of the Blood Moon Witch - Content edit, Ch. 7 - Ch. 14: Again, not as much as I would have liked. I'm surprising myself by not actually changing much so far. I expected to have to fix and adjust a lot of things. I am fixing and adjusting, but not as much as I would have thought. Especially since the book has a slow start. I'm admittedly a slow burn author, but it was something my beta pointed out, but as I read through, I just can't find a spot that feels right to change up some of the pacing early.

Other Projects: As seen above, I got the map done; otherwise not much really. My next focus is transitioning my reference materials to World Anvil and get the public wiki set up for you guys. It's going to take a while. As soon as I finish editing RotBMW I'm going to make it a priority. For now I'm going to try to get a little bit done each day.
