June 2nd, 2025 Update

June already, huh? Crap, forgot to do my car registration, uggh! lol. Well, other than realizing that spring is basically gone and summer is here, I'm doing alright. Last week started off... odd. Monday, I basically didn't get anything done because of some insomnia. Tuesday/Wednesday I caught up. So despite the odd start, I was on track and even ahead for most of the week. The family issue I talked about last week is still in the air. I don't know if it will interfere or not with my regular schedule or not, we'll see.

Project Statuses

Main Project - Elite Ascent - 46,500 words: I'm exactly on par for the week here. Story wise I'm looking to finish up the current section of the book this week. I have one to two more scenes to write before I go into a time skip. That being said I will have to update character sheets massively this week. I kind of expect not to get out my usual number of words because of all the background work I will have to do. So we'll see how that goes. I expect progress, it just might not show itself in pure word count this week.

Side Project - Rise of the Blood Moon Witch - 2nd Pass Prologue - Ch. 18 Completed: So I'm actually ahead here. I expected to do two chapters a day, but I managed three per day. I expect to try to get ahead on it today and tomorrow and finish up the second pass by the end of the week. My initial edits when I finish a chapter really help to cut down on this stage. I honestly expect to be done with the edit by the end of June. That being said, I'll have to contemplate sending it off to an editor or not. At this point, that would be a costly excuse to delay further. I want to find and start using an editor in the next year. I'm not sure if I can justify the cost or not yet. The main thing I'm debating is when to release the book. I want to do an October release because the story has witchcraft and a vampire MC. It's not a spooky story, but at least somewhat on theme. At the same time, holding content to try and get a fast start for the book... I'm not sure if that sits well with me. So it's a major debate.

Other Projects: Nothing here, and I don't expect this week to change much unless I finish the second pass early, even then I might just dive into the last pass.
