As the title says, it's the week of my birthday. I won't say which exact day it is or how old I am. Honestly, I don't keep track of how old I am. If someone asks, I generally have to do math.
All right, that being said, here are the updates on the writing. I fell short this week, but with taking Saturday to visit my grandma, that was to be expected. It didn't help that I fell behind at the beginning of the week. That said, I'm not terribly far behind, and since I have this entire week off from work, I plan not only to make up for it but to get ahead so that in a couple of weeks, when it's time for Christmas, I have a backlog. Honestly, I don't expect Christmas to impact it too much as I'll be visiting family on one of the Sundays around it, and that's my usual day off anyway. Still, I want to get ahead and make up for that terrible week at the beginning of November.
Project Statuses
Main Project - Reborn Elite - 111,700 Words: I was slightly short here, just three hundred words. So I'll be able to make up ground quite easily this week. That being said, I'm wrapping up the third section. That basically leaves the finale, so I'm guessing the final word count will be between 130k words and 140k. I expect to finish the first draft by mid to late January. I contacted my artist last week, and he's been having a rough time and messed up his queue, but I sent him a brief, and he's going to fit me in where he can. I still have to finish, wait for my beta's to give me feedback, and start the editing process, so plenty of time for him to work. I still hope to have the art by the time I start editing.
Side Project 1 - Rise of the Bloodmoon Witch - 56,200 Words: So this is where I really fell behind. I only wrote about half a chapter. My average chapter comes out to be 3200 words on average. I always try to have between 2800 and 3500. It would have to be really fitting to fall below 2800, while I've had some chapters go over the high end. Story-wise, it's progressing well. I'm having fun with the new character I introduced, and the beginning of the next chapter will introduce some long-term plot.
Side Project 2 - A Penny for a Wish - 17,500 Words: As usual, there is no progress, but that's the life of being third on the priority list. I'm considering putting this on a hiatus tag until I can really dig back into it and use any spare time after the two projects to work on world-building for them and other things.
