April 21st, 2025 Update.
I'm getting this out early today. Not much to report this week. The slump continues, and I didn't get as much done as I might have hoped this week, but I was going to take it easy this week anyway. My goal for this week is to do a full week of writing. My betas haven't gotten back to me yet, so I'm thinking of giving it another week before I start the editing process for RotBMW. But that's alright, I'm working on a world map in Inkarnate. Honestly, that will forever be a WIP as I come up with countries, cities, and other places of import or interest, but I want to get the basic topography done. On top of that, I'm thinking of getting a lifetime membership to World Anvil. I want to do it eventually, no matter what, it's just getting to a point where the price point feels comfortable. Honestly, I might get that this week and start moving my reference materials to it and playing with the tools it has. It should let me keep my reference materials more organized and easily navigable. On top of that I'll be able to make it publicly viewable giving me a wiki I can provide links to for readers. But transferring is going to be a lot of work, so yeah.
Main Project - Elite Ascent - 10,100 Words: I didn't get a full week of writing done, but I eased myself back into it and completed a full chapter. I'm honestly a bit nervous about this book as I want to deliver a satisfying ending to Arc 1, but I'm focusing on putting those nerves behind me and simply writing. If I focus on getting the rough draft done and then polishing later, I'll be able to move forward at a good pace.
Side Project 1 - RotBMW - Rough Draft Complete, waiting for opinions from Betas: As mentioned above, I think I'll hold off for another week to let my betas dig into it a bit more. After that, I'm thinking of trying to edit 1-2 chapters a day. This is a slow pace, but since I want to publish the vampire/witch book in October, I have time to take it slowly.
Other Projects: The map I mentioned above is about 25% where I want it to be. It's probably further along, but I have a lot of landmass that is just empty right now, and I want it to look decent. I'm not going to pretend to be a cartographer, but I do want something decent for people to reference. I'll put World Anvil transfer in here as well, just in case I start that this week.
